Education:

Kansas State University, Bachelor of Science, Interior Design, 2016

Aside from drawing diagrams and rearranging her room at least once a month, Kaylee knew she wanted to be in design after her childhood weekends were spent touring newly constructed homes with her dad, imagining what colors they would paint and how they would arrange the furniture.

During college, Kaylee worked with the History Department to develop a layout and 3D model for a temporary traveling exhibit. At SCI, Kaylee has worked on a number of office buildings and banks, notably the FHLB headquarters in Topeka, but enjoys all project types equally.

When she isn’t finding new food to cook and wine to drink, Kaylee draws inspiration by considering how people will use a space and how she can impact them in a positive way.

Professional Organizations:

  • 2013-2018, International Interior Design Association (IIDA)
  • 2016-2018,Topeka Facility Management Association (TFMA)

Favorite SCI Project:

Federal Home Loan Bank. I learned so much from a project management standpoint.

Words to Live By:

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow" - Helen Keller

Her Greatest Fear:

I have this irrational fear of cotton balls…

Hobbies:

I really enjoy challenging myself to cook new recipes. When the weather is nice, I try and go outside and sketch and when it’s not nice out, I'll pull out my ukulele and learn a new song. Staying active and going to the gym is also important to me; last summer I joined a co-ed softball team and played ultimate frisbee with friends!
