The Greater Topeka Partnership was formed by merging nine different civic groups under the umbrella of one unified body and is a perfect example of the range of services Schwerdt Contract Interiors provides. In 2018, SCI was hired to design, plan, furnish and coordinate the new GTP shared office space. To address the specific needs and nuances of the merger, SCI met extensively with leadership to plan which entities would function best alongside each other. For example, some of the groups required a greater amount of privacy due to confidentiality needs, others called for more internal collaborative units, while others required meeting spaces that would accommodate outside visitors.
Once the individual demands were met, the design brought cohesiveness to the office by using colors, finishes and furnishings that complimented the overall space and took advantage of the downtown views. When it came time to relocate the separate groups, SCI was integral in the coordination of the move by adhering to a tightly controlled deadline and process that ensured employees of GTP did not lose days of work.
