Bishop Professional Development Center

The first of its kind in the region, the Bishop Professional Development Center is a training center for educators in Topeka and the surrounding areas.

Schwerdt Design Group renovated a former elementary school into the new facility. Large and small meeting spaces were added in addition to several offices. Tech was built into all areas from smart boards to charging stations to a television studio with a green screen. Colorful finishes on everything from the dry erase boards to the seat cushions add to the vibrancy of the entire facility. In the entryway, a large mural by a local artist Andy Valdivia depicts the events around the historic Brown versus the Board of Education court case which ruled segregation unconstitutional.
