The Menninger Clinic’s facility in Topeka, Kansas was developed in the late 1970’s to be a residential scale community of 28 structures on a 350 acre hilltop campus. Mr. Hunt was a member of the architectural team that designed and built this therapeutic environment which the professional staff said allowed them to interact and treat patients in entirely new ways. After completion of the construction, Mr. Hunt served as Director of Facilities Management for Menninger for 20 years. His involvement included not only this campus but Menninger’s interests in many other locations around the country where psychiatric units in general hospitals were managed through its Clinical Network Program.
